The Hollow Experience

Camp Life

Children are grouped into four residential villages based on age and gender.  Village life centers on age appropriate activities.

Programs activities focus on building individual and interpersonal skills.  The overall goal for each camper is to develop self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment while having fun!  Program offerings during the scheduled activity periods may include:
• Arts & Crafts
• Day & Night Hikes
• Team Sports
• Reading Periods
• Ropes Challenge Course
• Dance & Drama
• Nature
• Instructional Swim

All campers will be exposed to outdoor living skills, environmental studies, life skills, small group sessions and wildlife programs.

Summer Camp

A Warm Welcome
Welcome all new and returning campers to another exciting summer at “The Hollow!” Enrollment for the summer camping season begins in March 21, 2012 and will be conducted on line when you CLICK HERE.

It is important that parents make an appointment for their child to get a physical examination as soon as possible.  All heath forms must be signed by a physician and submitted prior to the session starts.

Bus service is provided from the immediate Washington, D.C. area on the departure day.  Parents should arrive at The Model Cities Wellness Center, 1901 Evarts Street NW at 7:30am for registration. The bus departs for camp Mondays at 8:15 a.m. Parents must arrive to greet their children at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Winter Camp

School Year and Winter Camp sessions offer something different for teens 12 to 17 years of age.  Selected weekends will be spent at Camp Moss Hollow.  Activities include in-town cultural events and a leadership training program for eligible youths and teens. Winter Camp and School Year services will be offered from October through April.
