FAMILY MATTERS HOSTS FIRST ANNUAL 5k WALK FOR CAMP TO RAISE AWARENESS AND FUNDS FOR CAMP MOSS HOLLOW
Washington, DC – Family Matters of Greater Washington invites greater Washington, DC community members and residents to sign up for their 1st annual “5K Walk for Camp” event on Saturday, September 24th at the Anacostia River Trail. The “5K Walk for Camp” will raise awareness for the Send a Kid to Camp Campaign which raises funds to send at-risk and underserved youth in the Greater Washington region to summer camp. Registration for the event starts at $25 and corporate sponsorships start at $550 – the cost to send a kid to camp. All participants will receive a “swag bag” and a complimentary event T-shirt so that we can walk in solidarity and in support of the kids who need us most.
The walk starts at 10:00 AM, with participant and sponsor registration beginning at 9:00 AM. Sign up is at the registration tent on the North Field in Anacostia Park, located at 1800 Anacostia Drive, SE, Washington, DC 20020.
This walk celebrates the 50th anniversary of Camp Moss Hollow, and will serve to close out this year’s annual Send a Kid to Camp campaign, with the help of businesses and generous supporters in the greater Washington region. Light healthy morning refreshments and fun exercises will start the day. Following the event, participants are invited to enjoy fresh pizza, catered by &Pizza! Prizes will be awarded to those who raise the most pledges.
